HOW TO: Variate WordPress Page Images With PHP

When I created Armeda.com I wanted an easy way to have a different title on each interior page based on an image.

Over the past few months I have had various requests for content sliders and carousels that integrate WordPress posts on each slide.

This post will give you a quick run down of how to easily add a simple and easily customizable carousel with WordPress posts from a specified category.

HOW TO: Host and Build Your Own WordPress Blog – Part 2

Your new domain name and hosting account is all set up. What now?

Now we get to the meat and potato’s. You now have your domain sitting on your hosting account. It’s time to get WordPress downloaded, uploaded to your server, and installed. You’ll know what I mean by the time you are done reading this post.

I initially wanted to create a post that went from registering your domain name, to installing WordPress, to publishing your first post. It became apparent quickly that it would be better to segment the HOW TO into multiple posts. If you are looking for your very own, out of the box, hosted blog, there are great options like WordPress.com or Blogger.com. Although these solutions are simple to create and manage, what about for those who crave a bit more flexibility, and want to host their own website? I see the question all the time, should I use a hosted solution or build my own?

I have also heard many times, no way, it’s to expensive and I don’t have the technical skills to make it work. Let me tell you, it’s a lot easier than you think.
