I had a great time last weekend. I was in Vegas with some of the smartest and fun people I know. Last week on Wednesday I drove out to Las Vegas for the second installment of Prestige Conference, a premium business and career development conference.
I came in a few days early to broadcast episode of 074 of DradCast from the InNEVation Center. Right after Drad aired, the Las Vegas WordPress Meetup Group was gearing up for their monthly meetup. I got to hang with the local WordPress community and spent some time with John Hawkins & Jon Brown who you may know from 9Seeds. If you’re in Vegas and love WordPress, you need to join this awesome group. John and the rest of the team are amazing and put together a top notch meetup!
Thursday night was great. The main event festivities were kicked off with a great dinner hosted by Mendel Kurland and Chris Carfi from GoDaddy on Thursday. It was a great dinner and awesome vibe hanging with attendees, speakers and sponsors over dinner.

WebDevStudios officially arrived with Brad Williams (and his better half April Williams) along with Lisa Sabin-Wilson flying in for the event. We spent some time down at the Freemont Street Experience which is always fun, very interesting, and severely peculiar!
The Official event kickoff was back at InNEVation on Friday night where registration and the first business panel set the tone.

The awesome continued on Saturday with some really awesome stories, panel discussions, and great networking. I even got in some hat shopping with Brandon Dove and Jeffrey Zinn of Pixel Jar. I wasn’t able to attend the first Prestige, but if the Las Vegas edition was any indicator of events past and those to come, you should certainly join in on the fun.
Prestige is a good business event. Not just built on the premise of connecting those interested in business, it looks to be building into a great place to gain valuable insight into the business history and experience of personas around the WordPress space. To me, it’s turning into a viable vehicle for those that are looking to level up!
If you’ve missed the first two events, yes, you did miss out. Don’t sweat it though! Round three is in the early stages of planning, and has been officially announced. Prestige Conference is coming back for its third installment and it’s being held back in Minneapolis, the first week of August. I’ll be there, and I am very excited to have been asked to speak. A few speakers have been announced and you can head over to the Prestige website for more details.
Not the best recap, I know. Below are a couple posts with a better breakdown of the event, and even some killer photo galleries if you fancy a look into the cool people and events from last week:
