October 2010 has been filled with anticipation, excitement, fear, cheer, pain, and progress 😀
Fortunately, it’s mostly positive stuff. Short of my shoulder surgery, it has been extremely exciting.
Back in January I posted on my old site Armeda about a bunch of cool stuff going on, that’s been expanded and brilliant progress has been made since.
Since the beginning of the year, I’ve launched two different ventures that have grown immensely, and it’s been amazing to be a part of.
After years consulting it became apparent to me and those around me that it was time to take it to the next level, so, we did! CubicTwo LLC was formed at the beginning of the year and is really taking form.
Having good partners is key to a successful start-up. My partner Tony Perez (@perezbox) and I have been building CubicTwo over the last 10 months, and it’s gaining speed!
It’s a lot of work, but very exciting, check out our latest client launch. While working with existing and new clients, we continue to build our long term strategy, project processes, and all the other fun business components of a start-up.
The new CubicTwo site is launching this week and I think it meets the mark! We’re a WordPress shop and we definitely eat our own dog food.
If you’re attending WordCamp Las Vegas 2010 come say hi 🙂
I’ve been involved in one capacity or another with security for over 10 years. I’ve worked in various domains from physical security, to crypto, and of course information security.
My latest involvement has been around the push to help website owners monitor their websites for malware, and blacklisting status. The idea of Sucuri Security is to help anyone that does not have the resources to clean up their own sites.
It’s more than that though, we’re really pushing to help build standards around how hosting providers secure and offer remediation to their clients.
We have put together a solid research team, malware cleanup services, and platform fingerprinting capabilities to help you ensure you’re doing the right thing when managing security on your site.
Check out Sucuri and let us know what you think. We’re partnering up with hosting providers and other organizations to help fight against malware.
The death of Armeda
Not really, but going for a long nap. Armeda started out as a personal site, then consulting services, then this, then that, you get the idea.
dre.im will now house random nothingness and targeted jiberish by me, Dre Armeda. Everything else, including my portfolio, will move over to CubicTwo which is were I officially offer my web services.
Well, the rest of October brings good and bad, at least short term bad. I am finally having shoulder surgery on the 27th to correct a ton of crud going on in there. That in itself is bad, however, the long term benefit is extremely positive. Hopefully I’ll be back on the softball field, and the golfing range soon!
To the really good stuff, my wife is due as of Saturday the 16th, so we’ll have a new addition to the Armeda family any day now, this is a true blessing, and we’re on pins and needles. 🙂 The excitement is overwhelming and we can’t wait to have our new little one home. She was showing signs of premature labor back in September, and here we are past her due date and nothing yet, crazy times!
All and all, October has been great, but has felt like a marathon. Hopefully the start to your 4th quarter has been great, and I hope the rest of the year ends well!
